Definition

The libero (pronounced LEE-beh-ro) is a back-row defensive specialist who wears a contrasting jersey and can substitute freely without counting against the team's substitution limit. Liberos cannot attack the ball above net height or serve in most formats. Their primary stats are dig percentage and pass quality.
